We also sell high-quality coke on the global market. The main customers for JSW Group’s products are in Poland, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Italy and India. Approx. 50% of the coking coal we produce is processed in our own coking plants. Aside from iron ore, coke is a key input component for steel-making. It is also used in foundries, in the non-ferrous metals industry, chemicals industry and to produce insulation materials.

Introducing modern technologies and innovations is – aside from investments – the most important source of the Group’s strength as the largest producer of coking coal and leading producer of coke on the European market. Our civilisation is nearing a moment in which the use of mineral resources, especially energy resources, will lead to a depletion of the available deposits, with fewer new discoveries being made. This is why the European Union entered the coking coal produced by JSW onto its list of critical raw materials. We are confidently looking into the future. We have 952 million tonnes of proven extractable resources, which guarantees stable mining for at least 60 years.
