Management of innovations
All R+D+I projects are implemented via transparent paths based on decision gateways after each stage of a path, from acquiring and launching the project, through the research stage, to development works, preparations for implementation and lastly implementation and commercialisation works.
Project management is carried out in accordance with the Methodology for Managing R+D+I Projects. The methodology covers implementation of R+D+I projects at JSW Group through decision gateways and appropriate reporting for each project. The following units are involved in managing R+D+I projects: JSW’s Management Board, JSW’s Strategy and Development Office, JSW Innowacje.
The methodology sets out a detailed process for conducting projects in reference to newly-drafted and existing documents at JSW Group. It consists of two basic elements making it possible to identify essential tasks related to implementing R+D+I projects – process map and description of tasks and documentation at each stage of the process.
Strategic R+D+I projects:
Strategic projects are selected and initiated in the Strategy and Development Office. Strategic projects are prepared and managed by JSW Innowacje. The Committee for Evaluating Strategic Innovative Projects issues recommendations to launch strategic projects and move them past decision gateways, while final decisions are made by JSW’s Management Board.
Strategic projects are financed using funds secured in JSW Group’s technical and economic plan or an R+D+I provision. Reporting is based on monthly information on project status for JSW Innowacje’s Management Board and JSW’s Strategy and Development Office as well as quarterly reports on project progress from JSW Innowacje’s Management Board to JSW’s Management Board.
Innovative R+D+I projects:
Innovative projects are selected, initiated, prepared and managed by JSW Innowacje. The Committee for Evaluating Innovative Projects issues recommendations to launch innovative projects and move them past decision gateways, while final decisions are made by JSW Innowacje’s Management Board. Innovative projects are financing on the basis of a framework agreement between JSW and JSW Innowacje. Reporting is based on monthly information on project status for JSW Innowacje’s Management Board and quarterly reports on project progress from JSW Innowacje’s Management Board to JSW’s Management Board.
