Sustainable development
In 2018, Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa – alongside 31 other companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange – was named part of the Respect INDEX. This index consists of companies that are managed in a sustainable and socially responsible manner and are exceptionally attractive from an investment standpoint. This means that JSW once again met the restricting criteria that include actions addressing the natural environment and local communities.
JSW Group’s Sustainable Development Strategy 2017-2020 was adopted in September 2017, aiming to support and supplement JSW Group’s business objectives and to support corporate management. Being a European leader and having a presence on the global market is a tremendous ethical obligation to shape responsible behaviour patterns that will help not only to maximise our company’s economic value but will also reduce environmental impact and bring social benefits from mining activities. We want to monitor our impact on surroundings and manage it in accordance with sustainable development principles.
