Stanisław Kluza

Holds a Ph.D. in economics, the founder of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority.

  • Lecturer at the Warsaw School of Economics (since 1994) connected to the Institute of Statistics and Demography;
  • Chairman of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (September 2006 – October 2011);
  • Minister of Finance and Deputy Minister of Finance (May-September 2006);
  • Chief Economist and Director of the Analysis Department at Bank Gospodarki Żywnościowej (2002-2006);
  • Previous experience included McKinsey & Co. (1998-1999), Unilever (1994-1998) and the Supervisory Boards of Sygnity (2006), Siarkopol (2006) and Elektrownia Siersza in Trzebinia (1998-1999).

In 1995, earned a Top Ten Diploma from the Warsaw School of Economics. In 1998, received a scholarship from the Foundation for Polish Science. From 1999 to 2000, a Fulbright scholar at the University of Washington in St. Louis. In 2001, a Dekaban-Liddle scholar at the University of Glasgow. In 2001, received the Prime Minister’s award for his Ph.D. dissertation.

Academic specialization: monetary policy, statistics, econometrics, macroeconomics, banking and business cycle research. Author of a number of presentations and lectures on financial market supervision and macroeconomic issues.
