About the mine
The Budryk Mine was built between 1978 and 1994. Coal mining began in March 1994 as a technological start-up, with formal mining operations commencing a year later. In 2008, the Budryk Mine was incorporated into the structures of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa. The deposit is located in the area of Ornontowice, Gierałtowice, Mikołów, Orzesz and Czerwionka-Leszczyny.
The mining area of the "Ornontowice I" deposit is 35.97 km2, and that of "Ornontowice II" is 4.63 km2. Recoverable coal reserves are 223.5 million tons. Type of coal produced: 34.2
