Industrial security consists in all activities related to ensuring the protection of classified information made available to an economic operator in connection with the performance of a contract related to access to classified information or tasks arising from the law.
Industrial security applies to classified information with different classifications, including the organizational and technical system for its protection. The entities involved are economic operators intending to gain access to classified information in connection with the performance of contracts or tasks arising from the law and organizational units commissioning their performance (commissioning units).
Industrial security certificates are issued by the Homeland Security Agency or the Military Counterintelligence Service after conducting an industrial security procedure which aims to determine whether the economic operator has the ability to protect classified information in various areas, such as finance, organization or HR. As part of the industrial security procedure, the economic operator's background check and verification is conducted regarding individuals who are to gain access to classified information.
The procedure conducted by the Homeland Security Agency ended on 28 March 2022 with the issuance of a Level 3 Industrial Security Certificate stating that Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa S.A. has the ability to protect classified information of the:
