Force majeure Operating activity

Announcement of the occurrence of force majeure, update of the information on JSW’s operating assumptions for coal production in 2024

Body of the report:

The Management Board of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa S.A. [“JSW”, “Company”] hereby reports that on 7 November 2024 it adopted a resolution on the occurrence of force majeure in JSW and the notification of the Company’s business partners of its occurrence and the ensuing consequences for the obligations affected by the operation of force majeure. 

The decision in question is related to the occurrence of an increase in the fire at KWK Pniówek hazard in the area of longwall W-3, in seam 362/1, and the sealing off of the area, i.e. a situation that could not have been foreseen, avoided or overcome, remaining beyond the Company's control, affecting the operation of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa S.A. and the mining work in progress.

The remaining resources to be mined in the longwall in question amount to approx. 100,000 tons. 

In addition, with reference to Current Reports No. 39/2024 and No. 47/2024, the Company's Management Board hereby reports that it has revised its basic operating assumptions for 2024. In view of the above, the Company announces an updated operating target for coal production in 2024, which has been set at 12.35 million tons.
