- Dear miners, you are not a problem to our country. Your work guarantees Polish energy stability and social order. You teach us solidarity and responsibility both for our places of work and each other. For the young generation you are the example of hard work and reliability, caring and devotion for the family –  said  archbishop Skworc in his homily.

Metropolitan of Katowice noticed that, we face numerous uncertainties in the mining industry. – There is prevailing expectation to put the situation in order. It is the duty of the mines’ owner – the Treasury. In the Upper Silesia, but not only here,  we expect the order in this industry, which for the decades is suffering time of changes and instability. Despite the restructuring hardships , we look into the future with optimism – said the archbishop .

The ceremony was accompanied by the JSW mining orchestra, which musically greeted guests before the holy mass and after, a procession with the participation of celebrants was accompanied by regiment of mine rescuers.
