The Award Committee of the Mining Success of the Year competition at the Mining Chamber of Industry and Commerce appreciated Artur Dyczko’s special contribution to maintaining production in Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa mines and perfect management of the crisis management team coordinating the production and preventive activities in the times of the pandemic.
It also appreciated the winner’s outstanding engagement in the activities of the JSW Foundation, thanks to which the health care system in the region obtained substantial financial support, and the organization of the blood and convalescent plasma donation campaign for those suffering from COVID-19.
Overall, 1,658 people participated in the blood drives, donating 568 liters of blood and 102 liters of blood plasma.
– The title of Personality of the Year in the Mining Success of the Year competition is a great honor for me. To be fair, all Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa employees are Personalities of the Year – in these difficult times of the pandemic they focused not only on combating the virus but also fought for keeping their jobs. Thanks to their huge mobilization, we won the fight with the pandemic at the times which were the most difficult for the mines. Thanks to them we are ready to face further challenges with the same dedication – says Mr. Dyczko.
Maintaining the continuity of production, fulfilling contractual obligations, keeping the quality and timeliness of deliveries to our business partners – are all production tasks.
However, one should remember that the support provided by JSW employees to SANEPID stations was also a huge effort. Readiness to bring help in each situation has become the hallmark of our staff.
– We not only fought to keep the jobs and combated the coronavirus but also struggled with the hate that affected the miners and their families. I would like to thank everyone for their participation in the campaign “Don’t hate the miner”. I’m happy that the Award Committee also appreciated the activity of the JSW Foundation. It is important because all Company employees are its founders. Support for hospitals, purchase of ventilators for nearly one million zloty and help to local governments, are just some examples of the company’s affiliation with the local community. I would also like to thank Włodzimierz Hereźniak, former JSW CEO, who nominated me for this award – emphasizes Artur Dyczko, JSW Vice-President for Technical and Operational Matters.
Despite the pandemic, the Company strongly emphasized its links with the freedom-fighting traditions. The 40th anniversary of the signing of the Jastrzębie Agreement, 40th anniversary of the foundation of the Solidarity trade union, 100th anniversary of the victory over Bolsheviks in the Battle of Warsaw, 102nd anniversary of independence and commemoration of the Indomitable Soldiers became an occasion for a patriotic concert broadcast online.
– We may be weary but we still remain undefeated. That is how it has been and how it will continue to be, because this is the tradition of the soil on which we live and work. We all have proved it once again. Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, JSW Employees and Residents of our region, I dedicate this award to you – emphasized Artur Dyczko.
The aim of the Mining Success of the Year competition is to promote and popularize projects stimulating the innovation and development of Polish underground mining and appreciate personalities of special significance and environmental efforts.
The competition is held in three categories – Innovation, Ecology and Personality of the Year.
In the Innovation category the Award Committee granted two ex-aequo awards. They went to Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka for “Technological and organizational optimization of the longwall with a strike of 7100 m” and Becker-Warkop for “Battery-powered tractor CA-190
