Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa must be competetive and that is why it is drawing on the knowledge and experience of the very best.
A delegation from the Australian government agency called CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) is currently visiting the Company. This research organization has been in existence for more than one hundred years and is highly renowned for its scientific and research work. By tapping into the most sophisticated technology it creates innovative products and tools to overcome challenges in the mining industry. Among its other accomplishments, CSIRO devised detailed systems for mining deposit modeling in terms of productivity. “The Australians are an extraordinarily important partner for us. I am elated that we are collaborating with such a prestigious and world-renowned organization”, says Artur Dyczko – Vice-President for Strategy and Development in JSW. He adds: “They have enormous experience when it comes to modern solutions, they own patents and above all they are experts in the most modern solutions and technology.”

During the first day of their visit to Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa, our guests from Australia learned about the Company’s detailed business model, growth strategy and investment plans. They spent the second day in the coal preparation plant at the Pniówek mine in Pawłowice. JSW’s collaboration with its Australian partners pertains among others to coal preparation, petrographic analyses of coal’s granular composition and topics related to quality forecasting. Moreover, JSW and CSIRO will cooperate closely on the automation of longwall mining.

This Polish-Australian cooperation will enable Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa to deploy innovative solutions to enhance the quality of its products. In that manner JSW’s mines will have an opportunity to ratchet up their effectiveness and continue their development.
