- We need a greater degree of Silesianity in Poland, because Poland needs the ability to combine tradition with modernity, work culture, custom and strong family - all the values that are here in Silesia and have worked well throughout generations. That is why I warmly congratulate all decorated, sending wishes to all miners. I would like to ask you to make this hard mining work an example for the whole Poland. God bless you! Long live our mining state - the president said during the solemnization.
The guests at the academy were, among others: Tomasz Tomczykiewicz, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Economy, Zygmunt Łukaszczyk, Governor of Silesia, Adam Matusiewicz, Marshal of the Silesian voivodship, Józef Myrczek , Chairman of the Supervisory Board of JSW, representatives of mining supervision, many parliamentarians and local government. Welcoming the guests, Marek Celmer, director of the Jas-Mos asked for minute of silence to honour employees of the Company who died last year while working.
- In the pursuit of life we forget about its sense, and who we would be if our identity is not recorded in history? Thousands of people in the Jas-Mos have found the meaning of life. Mixing employees from different parts of Poland created a great quality here. We are a monolith on key issues. In a few weeks we open a new chapter here with integrated mine Borynia-Zofiówka-Jastrzębie. I believe that this new mission will bring another success - said the director. Thanks for the whole year of employees’hard work were expressed also by Jaroslaw Zagórowski, CEO of JSW, who indicated that the Company began the fight against the crisis, to prepare for the future, not an easy year. President Zagórowski, mentioning the shape of the JSW Group with 30 thousand workers, noted that the miners employed by the Company are the best in the Polish mining industry, because they work in the harshest environments and are able to deal with it.
- We have new development plans, and we will bring credit to the Polish economy, because JSW workers are the people of courage. We will cope with the crisis ourselves, but we need authorities’support to change the law governing the operation and modernization of certain offices. We cannot operate with legislation formed 20 years ago - said the president. Jarosław Zagórowski also thanked business partners, local government, representatives of the uniformed services and the trade unions. - Our friendship is rough, but rough is also the mining operation. Most importantly, however, that we get along, and not in Warsaw, but here in Jastrzębie – said CEO of JSW.
