Barbórka JSW with Prime Minister

Prime Minister Donald Tusk met the Krupiński miners, for whom this year's festival was particularly important - the mine celebrated its 30th anniversary.

Prime Minister in his speech during the ceremony, stated that the miners are perhaps the most needed profession in Poland from the point of view of the whole nation, and Polish coal is a treasure. Donald Tusk also appreciated the hard work of miners - Your work, Your effort is worth the greatest respect, not only because it exposes Your life and health and it's the hardest job you can imagine. Your effort, Your work is worth the highest respect, primarily because you are much needed today in Poland - said the Prime Minister. Later, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Development Elżbieta Bieńkowska took the floor  to wish all the best to the miners.

After the government representatives delivered their speeches, the floor was taken by Marian Kurpas, the director of the Krupiński mine. He thanked the staff for their diligent work and wished luck to all miners. Also Jarosław Zagórowski, CEO of JSW was grateful for the whole year of hard work. The President stressed that the past year has been very difficult for the Company. – We feel the impact of a significant drop of coking coal price. I would like to point out however, that thanks to the activity in all the areas we generate positive result, we are realizing the planned investments, trying to do them at a lower costs we also have record coal sales since several years, likely to exceed 14 million tons. The ambition of all of us is to finish this year with profit. - Said Jarosław Zagórowski.

At the end of his speech,  president Zagórowski thanked for hard work of all employees of JSW. – The workers are the greatest value of JSW. Without you, our company would not be successful. I want to express my gratitude. God bless you – said Jaroslaw Zagórowski. Among the guests were, among others: Tomasz Tomczykiewicz, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Economy, Zygmunt Łukaszczyk, Governor of Silesia, parliamentarians, representatives of mining supervision. Upon completion of the academy all the guests went to the Municipal Cultural Centre, where the traditional Silesian dinner was served.
