- Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa is our neighbor, because the headquarters of the State Fire Service and JSW are only a few hundred meters apart. We cooperate very well and we can count on each other - emphasized senior brigadier Wojciech Piechaczek, city commander of the State Fire Service in Jastrzębie-Zdrój. It is in this unit, thanks to the financial support of, among others, the JSW Foundation, it was possible to modernize the command center, which has significantly impact on the safety of the city residents, among others thanks to replacing the ICT equipment, which has improved the decision support system and coordination of activities.
It doesn't end there - the JSW Foundation supported the purchase of special clothing and equipment for the high-altitude rescuers of the Volunteer Fire Brigade from Jastrzębie and special clothing and helmets for the firefighters from the Bzie Volunteer Fire Brigade.
- We are aware that being one of the main employers in this region we have an obligation, but also the desire to help - said Barbara Piontek, President of the Management Board of JSW SA and the JSW Foundation. - Safety is an important issue. In our operations, we often encounter the most difficult situations in which we fight for human health and life. Caring for what is most precious is the mission that binds us together - she added.
A ceremonial assembly in the headquarters of the Jastrzębie-Zdrój State Fire Service was also an opportunity to award the City Headquarters with a gold “Badge of Honor for Services to the Silesian Voivodeship” and to thank Barbara Piontek, the President of the JSW Management Board, for supporting the firefighters. - The effects from Jastrzębie-Zdrój show a good trend whereby State Treasury companies are committed to corporate social responsibility for the benefit of all of us - summed up Michał Woś, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Justice, who was present at the ceremony.
