The New Center for Advanced Data Analysis is part of a comprehensive plan to increase the efficiency of production management, which is systematically being implemented by the company's Management Board.
A special team has been set up to improve the efficiency of production management and to support activities that are critical to the correct operation of the manufacturing process and company management, using full access to business and technical information.
These systems in real-time monitor the performance of machinery and equipment used in coal mining, storage, transport and face preparation, and other important processes to increase the safety of mining crews.
The team is currently testing the new integration platform, which will collect, process, and analyze data from the monitoring of the machines and equipment of different vendors, and will connect them to the information contained in the company's IT systems so that the full technical condition of the key machinery and equipment can be obtained.
- Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa, seeing ever-increasing amounts of data generated automatically from the production process (several dozen GB per day) and closely watching the world trends in Big Data, introduces advanced analytical tools to enhance business decision making. This will improve the organization of work and the proper use of machinery - says Artur Dyczko, Management Board Representative for Technical Matters . "We are aware that the common denominator for most of today's technology trends is data and its proper analysis. The ability to multidimensional inference and practical use of available knowledge are one of the most important factors affecting the condition of an enterprise and its position on the difficult, competitive market".
The control room's operation center is equipped with professional visualization equipment enabling the presentation of data on large format screens. For this purpose a video wall composed of four seamless large format monitors has been built. Such solutions were also applied in other control rooms located in JSW mines. A dedicated video processor which allows displaying up to 8 sources with full HD resolution on a video wall composed of four monitors, with the ability to scale and align individual images, is used to manage the displayed content. Video signals are provided by computer terminals connected to selected mining plants and retrieve the relevant data from there.
The implementation works related to the commissioning of the production data management and control center in the headquarters of the Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa was technically coordinated and implemented by Advicom, a JSW Group company.
