JSW Employee Suggestion Program, ongoing for several months, is one of the key elements of the forthcoming restructuring program and the assumption is to help in identifying employee expectations even in the scope of work organization or technical. Until now, it has already received more than 240 ideas that currently are being analyzed at the mines. Among the ideas there are suggestions to reduce red tape, but there are also purely technical ones, pointing at the necessity of unification of machinery and equipment and improvement of the coal loading.
Originally, the finale of the program was expected at the end of June this year, however, JSW board decided to continue the program due to considerable interest.
Employees submit their ideas by filling in an anonymous questionnaire prepared beforehand. Ideas that they think may bring us results in the form of cost savings, or better work organization. Completed surveys get later into specially prepared boxes, and then are reviewed by the plenipotentiaries for integrated management system who evaluate the pros and cons from the perspective of real possibilities of implementation. The Board periodically receives a report that contains information including the legitimacy of the initiative, and also its implementation - progress and outcomes achieved. In case of rejected ideas, the board wants to know the reasons for such rejection.
- Common sense solutions are the result of observations of people who know best what prevents them from working. The involvement of employees allows them to improve their effectiveness - says Edward Szlęk, CEO of JSW. - We encourage employees to forward thinking and presenting ideas for changes that will increase the efficiency of our company.
