The modern equipment will be used by the students in JSW’s patronage classes which train, among others, future miners and electricians. – The equipment is very logical and really easy to use. We use to make different measurements, among others, measurements of voltage and power, explains Szymon Skaźnik, year two student at the Technical Secondary School.
The vocational training lab was equipped with a broad range of equipment – from machinery to electrical engineering and electronic devices. – The equipment has broader application because we train machinery electricians. However in the future we intend to focus more on control devices, which can be used for teaching electronics, and this is the basis for the basics of mining automation, says Stanisław Płaczek, vocational teacher. He adds that the control automation finds increasing applications in mining – not only on the surface but also underground, in bottom galleries.
The value of the equipment purchased for the Pawłowice school is PLN 54 thousand, including JSW Foundation’s donation of over PLN 48 thousand. – I’m happy that in addition to internships which we organize in the mines and on the surface, the JSW Foundation could enrich the school by professional equipment. This way the youths may expand their knowledge and use it in the future as electricians. Especially because the demand for this profession in mines is huge, says Aleksander Szymura, Employment Director in the “Pniówek” mine and, at the same time, Vice-President of the JSW Foundation.
So far the JSW Foundation has made 180 donations to different organizations and institutions in 16 locations where Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa conducts operations.
