Two longwalls were put into operation in the Zofiówka Section. The F-1 longwall will be mined until May 2024 and its resources amount to 600 thousand tons. Zofiówka's second longwall, B-1, has resources of 250 thousand tons and will cease operation in March next year.

The C-25 longwall with resources of 390 thousand tons has been launched in the Borynia Section. The longwall is expected to finish operation in March next year. In the Bzie Section, in turn, the N-1 longwall with resources of approx. 450 thousand tons has begun operation.

In addition, on 30 June in the Knurów Section, an action was launched to remove the stoppings and ventilate the area of longwall 34, where a fire occurred in early March this year. A site visit confirmed that operations can be resumed at the end of August 2023. The resources of longwall 34 are approx. 740 thousand tons.

- Currently, Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa operates 24 longwalls. The production volume we achieve is at the assumed level - said Edward Paździorko, JSW's Vice-President for Technical and Operational Matters.

JSW mines are still affected by the 2022 events in the Zofiówka Section and the Pniówek Mine. At the time, the Company's Management Board had to decide to remodel some work fronts. Nevertheless, the assumptions of the strategy adopted in 2022, according to which the Company is to reach a production level of 16 million tons in 2026, are still valid. The achievement of mining level targets is dependent on geological and mining conditions.
