„After lower extraction in Q2, the mines greatly mobilized their efforts”, says Jarosław Zagórowski, CEO of JSW. “The stabilization of mining and geological conditions also facilitated higher extraction”, adds the CEO of JSW.
Extraction grew steadily starting in September and in December it achieved a level of nearly 60 thousand tons per day. The prerequisite for generating robust extraction performance is to procure the proper level of preparatory works. By year-end 2011 the quantity of corridors prepared in the Company’s mines exceeded the level in 2010 by approximately 7 kilometers. Next year the Company intends to expand preparatory works by approximately 5 km. This will make it possible to increase next year’s extraction by approximately 700 thousand tons.
