By the decision of the management board of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa, the project - in agreement with the city - will be carried out at the Company's expense. This is another initiative aimed at improving the quality and comfort of life of the local community where JSW conducts mining operations.

The importance of Libowiec Street on the transportation map of Jastrzębie-Zdrój has changed with the construction of the Bzie Section. Since the beginning of this project, Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa has made efforts to ensure that it is carried out with respect for the needs and expectations of residents. Already in 2009, JSW’s authorities entered into an agreement with the Jastrzębie City Hall to modernize Libowiec Street. After completion of the first stage of work, the Borynia-Zofiówka-Bzie mine prepared a draft agreement with the road’s owner, the Jastrzębie City Hall, for further work to improve the safety and comfort of both drivers, and pedestrians and cyclists. Their most important element will be the construction of 3.5 kilometers of sidewalk, a bicycle path and 3-meter wide pedestrian and bicycle paths. It is vital that they will be built on land that will be connected to the road without reducing its existing footprint.

The number of tasks that will be fully financed by JSW is broader and includes the construction of street lighting, technical infrastructure, bus bays, and the reconstruction of the intersection of Libowiec Street with Cieszynska and Kilińskiego Streets. A roundabout with a diameter of 32 meters has been designed at this location. The intersection with Niepodległości Street will also get a new, safe shape.

The road is owned by the local government of Jastrzębie, and it is the City Hall that will prepare the tender to select the contractor and supervise the construction work in progress.
