– I am really happy that in these extraordinary and extremely difficult times, local governments and schools have not stopped thinking about the future of their students – said Artur Wojtków – JSW Vice-President for Labor and Social Policy. – We are very pleased with our past cooperation with the School Complex in Czerwionka-Leszczyny, so we decided to extend the agreement for another school year – said JSW Vice-President.
Today, 138 students of the School Complex in Czerwionka-Leszczyny receive a scholarship awarded by Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa. The agreement will extend the cooperation with the fourth class of students of this school.
- We can see increased interest not only with the profession of electrician, but also miner and mining technician. We have managed to create such classes in the current school year – said Natalia Kuś, director of the School Complex in Czerwionka-Leszczyny. The director said that she expected considerable interest with recruitment to mining classes also in the next school year, especially that students and parents were waiting for a document that would guarantee extension of the existing arrangement between the school and Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa. Recruitment to secondary schools starts in mid-June.
– Despite the pandemic, we are slowly returning to normalcy. We are glad that education will continue on the same terms as currently – the director added.
It is worth mentioning that the existing rules governing the scholarships, internships and employment of graduates in Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa units will remain as they are. They apply to graduates of the technical secondary school and the first degree vocational school comprised in the School Complex in Czerwionka-Leszczyny. The institution provides education for the professions of electrical technician specializing in mining equipment and installations, underground mining technician, as well as electrician specializing in mining equipment and installations and underground miner.
