JSW moves up in the ranking of the biggest companies of Central - Eastern Europe

Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa moved up 11 positions in the prestigious ranking of the biggest 500 companies of Central - Eastern Europe published by journal Rzeczpospolita. JSW took excellent 63rd position in terms of revenues in 2011. Such significant promotion is the consequence of carefully planned and effectively implied development and also investments based strategy.

Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa executes investment plan, ensuring access to new deposits and enhancing production capacity. In 2011 the Company performed acquisitions in strategic  coke and energy segments, which strengthened group’s competitive strength. At the same time modern management and reporting system are being implemented. In 2011 the Company made the record in its history net profit 2,1 billion PLN, which constituted almost three quarters of profits of all Polish mining industry.

We see the significant JSW promotion in the ranking of the biggest 500 Central – Eastern European companies, as the success of all employees. In last year we properly managed the external conditions and we dealt with the coal market competitors successfully.  Last year was significant due to our record financial profit and also successful Warsaw Stock Exchange debut – stresses Robert Kozłowski Vice- President for Financial Matters.

According to ranking’s authors strong representation of Polish companies  indicates that they start to reach the level of companies from the most developed countries of our region. They become more and more effective in action, strengthen their competitiveness and expand their business activities.
