The scholarship amounts were PLN 1.5 thousand, PLN 1 thousand and PLN 800. Just like the year before, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the scholarship award ceremony was limited to a token meeting with pupils attending the Secondary School Complex in Ornontowice. The scholarships were awarded to six pupils from this school – three pupils from the First Level Vocational School and the top three pupils attending the Mining Secondary School. Artur Wojtków, Vice-President of the JSW Management Board for Employment and Social Policy and Zbigniew Czarnecki, Director of KWK Budryk handed out checks and souvenirs.
“I congratulate you on your excellent academic results”, said Artur Wojtków, Vice-President of JSW, addressing the students. “You have achieved the best results among more than one thousand pupils taking mining classes under the patronage of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa. Special congratulations are due to Wojciech Bialucha, a third year pupil at the Technical Secondary School who has earned the highest average grade (5.85) among all the pupils who received a scholarship this year”, said Mr. Wojtków. At the end of the meeting, Mr. Wojtków assured that the scholarship program would be continued next year.
Among the pupils attending the Secondary School Complex in Ornontowice, apart from Wojciech Bialuch, the following pupils received awards: Marek Ćmok, Marcin Ćmok, Damian Wojtaszek, Dariusz Widuch and Jakub Grzegorzyca.
The Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa scholarship program covers over 1000 pupils attending schools specializing in teaching mining professions. In addition, over the last three years JSW has distinguished those pupils who have achieved the best educational results in a given school year.
