In the main category of the contest, the following were evaluated: financial statements, marketing report, online report or integrated report of companies from the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The main awards were given in two categories: enterprises and banks and financial institutions. In the category of enterprises, JSW was bested only by PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna and PGNiG.
The purpose of the competition is to promote companies, which prepare the best consolidated annual reports in accordance with IFRS/IAS. Compliance of the annual reports with the formal requirements, recommendations of international institutions and the use of best practices improve the safety of the capital market in Poland.
– For us, the third place in this year’s “The Best Annual Report” competition is not only an honor but also confirmation that the efforts that we have put into the preparation of the best possible report have paid off. I would like to thank each of our employees who contributed to the development of the awarded report. Our work has been recognized not only by the jurors in this competition but also by investors, who give us positive feedback. Obviously, we are not resting on our laurels here; we want our reports to improve in terms of substance as well as visuals – says Robert Ostrowski, Vice-President of the Management Board for Financial Matters.
The results were announced on 18 October 2018 during the Final Gala of “The Best Annual Report” competition in the Trading Room of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The Board of the Competition chaired by Prof. Waldemar Frąckowiak selected the winners from among enterprises and financial institutions. The awards were handed out for the best activity reports, the best application of IFRS/IAS and the best utility value of an annual report. Special prize can be awarded for the best annual report on the Internet and the best annual report of a foreign company.
