JSW's Management Board has decided to launch production of steam coal in the Orzech product range. The coal, expected to be supplied in the amount of up to 180 tons per day, is being sold at the Budryk mine for individual consumers as of today (16 August). The detailed terms and conditions of sale can be found on the website www.jsw.pl/dla-kontrahentow/cennik-wegla.

This year JSW will produce 400,000 tons of steam coal more than planned. In total, the Company will produce more than 2.7 million tons of steam coal in 2022. In addition, the Company has launched the production of energy pellets with a capacity of 400 tons per day. Another installation with similar parameters will be commissioned in early September 2022. This means that by the end of the year the two installations will produce more than 90,000 tons of steam coal pellets. The pellets in the refining process is produced from the fine coal fractions obtained in the production of coking coal. The pellets are used as an additive to steam coal and, like the steam coal produced by JSW, are sent to commercial power plants, large cogeneration plants with appropriate installations. The introduction of additional volumes of steam coal should also reduce the raw material gap for district heating producers.
