JSW’s charitable activity

Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa has formally established the governing bodies of the JSW Foundation to collaborate with local governments and support local initiatives. The JSW Management Board has elected to create this organization to strengthen the JSW Group’s image as a company espousing the principles of corporate social responsibility and demonstrating its charitable commitment.

The Foundation will lend support to local governments, especially the ones where Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa operates. The JSW Foundation’s Supervisory Board consists of eleven members and its Management Board consists of five people. Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa is the founder. “This will be a tool to help us pursue relations with municipalities in a transparent fashion when it comes to providing financial support to the various initiatives conducted by local governments. Robust collaboration is of key importance to us”, explains Daniel Ozon, CEO of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa and Supervisory Board Chairman of the JSW Foundation.

There are more than 100 corporate-backed foundations in Poland. Large cap companies such as KGHM Polska Miedź, Tauron, Energa, Lotos, PGE and Lubelski Węgiel ‘Bogdanka’ have their own foundations.
