JSW’s modern auditorium at the Silesian University of Technology

JSW tightens cooperation with the Silesian University of Technology. JSW Innowacje, a company owned by Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa, signed a cooperation agreement with the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. The agreement concerns preparation of a design and renovation of an auditorium in the main building of the Faculty of Mining and Geology by JSW Innowacje.

According to the agreement, the renovated auditorium is to be used not only by the students of the Faculty of Mining and Geology but also by project groups of JSW Group companies. It will be used to organize seminars, discussion panels and meetings with the academics specializing in the mining industry. The auditorium renovation costs will be known after a cost estimate is prepared. On behalf of JSW Innowacje, the agreement was signed by Tadeusz Wenecki, President of the Management Board, and Jacek Srokowski, Vice-President of the Management Board. The Silesian University of Technology was represented by Franciszek Plewa, Dean of the Faculty of Mining and Geology.

This is not the first cooperation agreement signed by Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa and the Silesian University of Technology. In April 2017, the institutions signed an agreement on cooperation in the preparation of personnel for the underground mining sector. The agreement sets out the rules of cooperation among others in respect to the organization of traineeships and internships of Faculty of Mining and Geology students and educational trips to Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa’s units.

One year ago, JSW and the Silesian University of Technology signed an agreement on cooperation with regard to development of the “Crew head’s zone and more” Internet training and information platform. Under the agreement the Silesian University of Technology co-organizes training devoted to the platform and promotes it among its students.
