The signed letter of intent envisages that the companies will share their experience, in particular with regard to the use of robots in the production process and during rescue campaigns as well as experience concerning improvement of enterprise management methods based on IT solutions or implementation of circular economy. Moreover, the mining companies will support each other in obtaining external co-funding for innovative mining solutions. Detailed terms and conditions of cooperation will be determined in separate agreements.

“I have no doubt that our unique experience and expertise accumulated at KGHM is the real human capital. We have been building the position of a giant of Polish and global economy based on these resources. In accordance with the new strategy, we are already now increasing expenditures on innovation. Cooperation in this area and exchange of experience will allow us to intensify our activities,” said Marcin Chludziński, President of KGHM during the ceremony of signing of the letter of intent.
“Each of the companies signing the today’s letter of intent has decades of mining experience. We consider that sharing this expertise may bring measurable effects in terms of production efficiency and – very importantly – safety of work underground,” said Artur Wasil, President of the Management Board of LW Bogdanka SA. “We are putting great emphasis on modern technologies. We are implementing the Smart Solution Mine program, for years now we have cooperated with scientific centers, including the Polish Academy of Sciences and the AGH University of Science and Technology.
