|   Investors Relations - common

In the first half of September, the Jas-Mos mine owned by Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa will resume production on longwall no. 24 (deposit 505/2), which was sealed off in May of this year in connection with a fire hazard. This means that in September this mine has regained production capabilities of approximately 7.5 thousand tons per day.

In the second half of October of this year, longwall N12 in deposits 329/1 and 329/2 in the Krupiński mine is expected to be opened, aired and penetrated. It is currently sealed off after methane combustion on 5 May of this year. A site visit will then be conducted in connection with the work of the commission investigating the causes and circumstances of methane combustion and the mass accident. The timing of production on longwall N12 depends on the assessment of the state of repair of the equipment and the mine pits surrounding the longwall.

Moreover, in efforts to procure production capabilities of 8.5 thousand tons per day on average, the Krupiński mine has undertaken organizational efforts to accelerate production on longwall N15 in this same deposit. This longwall will commence operations as early as the end of October of this year.

„We are doing our utmostto maximize production in our mines. Despite the occurrence of a number of unfavorable circumstances that took place in the first half of this year, our measures will enable JSW to regain an appropriate level of production in Q4 of this year, and increase it to a higher level in 2012”, comments Andrzej Tor, Vice-President of Production.

Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa forecasts that this year JSW’s mines will produce no less than 12.6 million tons, while next year JSW’s production will be one million tons higher.
