The scholarships funded by Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa were given to 27 students from Jastrzębie-Zdrój, Knurów, Czerwionka-Leszczyny, Ornontowice and Pawłowice. The prizes are to encourage the young people to employment in JSW’s mines. – I am very pleased that we can meet with such talented students, hand out the well-deserved scholarships to the best of them and support your education. I am really happy and I would like to congratulate everyone – said Robert Małłek, acting President of the JSW Management Board.
Special prizes were presented to three best students of mining classes from every school included in the cooperation agreement. The scholarship amounts were PLN 1,500, PLN 1,000 and PLN 800. –This is a significant distinction. I would like to congratulate the best students and teachers, because it is because of you that the students have such excellent results and we can give these prizes – said Artur Wojtków, Vice-President of the JSW Management Board for Employment and Social Policy.
The scholarship program will be continued next year. Also, the graduates will be employed directly by JSW instead of through JSW Szkolenie i Górnictwo, which also hires workers for JSW’s units.
