The conclusions of the JSW audit

The auditing team, set up at the initiative of the Minister of Energy, presented the results of their work on the activities of JSW to the social side. The meeting was held on July 18, 2016 r. At the headquarters of JSW in the presence of Minister of Energy Krzysztof Tchórzewski, Deputy Minister of Energy Grzegorz Tobiszowski, the JSW board and Members of the Silesian Parliament.

- Results of the audit will help us and the management thereof in the preparation of company restructuring. The auditing team presented us some background of the  company governance in the years 2005-2016 and showed a lot of irregularities. This knowledge will be useful to us to take corrective measures in the company - emphasized Minister of Energy  Krzysztof Tchórzewski.

As stated by the chairman of the audit team, PIS Member of Parliament Grzegorz Matusiak: - The auditing team pointed to the urgent need for organizational changes, the sale of redundant assets,  production costs reduction and management improvement.

Deputy Minister of Energy Grzegorz Tobiszowski, in turn, expressed the words of special appreciation to the JSW crew, that agreed on serious austerity measures, thanks to which the company can function today. – The audit closes a certain diagnosis stage - said Deputy Minister of Energy Grzegorz Tobiszowski, - The information about the misguided decisions and investments have been confirmed, but now we begin a new stage, which is to save the Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa - Deputy Minister added.

The conclusions of the audit were submitted to the Supervisory Board. - Today all parties – management and the social side want the same thing. We want JSW to recover and be profitable - said Tomasz Gawlik, CEO of JSW.
