“Even if anyone had been afraid, they would have experienced this only before the ride. The fears disappeared after a while. At first, you think to yourself that something bad might happen when you are about 850 m underground, but when you are being lowered down, all the fears change into curiosity,” Michał Łasko reported afterwards.
Some of the players already had an occasion to go down into the mine.Paweł Rusek was the one who did this for the seventh time! “I watched the reactions of the fellow players,” says Paweł laughingly. “I could see the feeling of unease on some faces,” he adds.
Once everyone was back on the surface, directors invited the playersfor lunch. The meeting was also attended by Andrzej Tor, Vice-President of the Management Board for Technical Matters and a great volleyball enthusiast, who gave a short presentation about the company.
“This was a great privilege and honour for us to get an opportunity to be taken underground into the mine.We could experience, even if just for a moment, the conditions in which miners work every day, and we are now filled with admiration for them.Thank you for giving us this opportunity,”saidZbigniew Bartman, the team captain.
