Wage talks at JSW without an agreement

The Management Board of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa met with delegates of representative trade union organizations operating in the Company (Solidarność, Kadra and the Federation of Miners’ Trade Unions [FZZG] at JSW).

“We talked about JSW’s payroll policy in 2020,” said Artur Wojtków, Vice-President of the JSW SA Management Board for Labor and Social Policy. Preparations for the meeting began immediately after the representative trade union organizations requested the Management Board to enter into wage talks.

“During the talks held on 4 March, we analyzed the company’s financial capacity,” said Sławomir Kozłowski, Chairman of Solidarność at JSW SA.

“The discussions are tough. The company continues to experience the consequences of the slowdown in the market for coking coal and coke. We have explained this situation to the trade unions,” said Radosław Załoziński, Vice-President of the JSW SA Management Board for Financial Matters.

“We are conducting these talks because we are willing to find a solution favorable to our employees and at the same time safe for the company. The representative trade union organizations are a strong but reasonable partner,” emphasized Vice-President Załoziński.

During the talks held on 4 March, no agreement was reached.
