– We hold free first aid training for all interested employees of the JSW Group and residents of our region, because safety and health are the most important to us – emphasizes Barbara Piontek, President of the JSW SA Management Board. – It is a modern educational project. The first aid training is held using the VR (virtual reality) technology – she adds. 

– A special app is connected to a training manikin. This way each participant, using virtual reality, learns and practices emergency procedures, such as chest compressions – explains Grzegorz Jaromin, who supervises the project in JSW SiG. – Participants are overseen by a virtual instructor who not only explains things but orders to repeat each new procedure until it is performed correctly. An additional benefit of the VR app is a realistic recreation of the conditions in which emergency operations take place – he notes.

Also schools join the campaign. – It’s very important for us to attract schools. During the training young people not only learn first aid rules but also develop the reflex of selflessly helping those in need – explains Aldona Urbanek from JSW SiG.

For students the VR technology is a special attraction. In the teachers’ opinion, youths love technological novelties. Thanks to them young people absorb first aid knowledge and skills faster and more precisely. – It was very interesting. It was just a great experience.  Such training is much better than lessons with handbooks at school. Thanks to this application, we can see and practice everything that will be useful in saving somebody’s life – says Michalina Kubińska, grade 6 student from Primary School no. 20 in Jastrzębie-Zdrój.

The free JSW first aid training will be held till the end of June, Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 6 pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 4 pm.
