The invited guests were welcomed by the host of the anniversary gala - Tomasz Cudny, President of the Management Board of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa, which was established on 1 April 1993.
- Thank you all for being present at our anniversary gala and joining us in the celebrations of JSW's 30th anniversary. The history of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa shows the transformations that have taken place in the Polish mining industry. In 1993, individual, scattered Polish mines were merged organizationally into coal companies. Of the companies established then: Bytomska, Gliwice, Nadwiślańska, Rudzka, Rybnicka Spółka Węglowa and Katowicki Holding Węglowy, after years of transformation, only Jastrzębska remained - recalled Tomasz Cudny, President of the JSW Management Board.
- I am convinced that with the continued commitment of the employees and stakeholders Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa will play an important role in the mining industry for many years to come. Without our coal, there will be no steel. Without steel, there will be no civilization. It will be impossible to implement the most ambitious green energy projects if we do not supply the raw material for smelting pig iron. The beginning of the green transition begins a thousand meters underground - from where we extract coking coal - Mr. Cudny emphasized.
This is an important event for the Company, which remains the largest producer of coking coal in the European Union, a major producer of coke and continues to expand its operations, contributing to the development of the region and Poland as a whole. During the gala, many warm words and good wishes were directed toward the Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa. Marek Wesoły, Deputy Minister of State Assets, read out a letter from Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin, in which he emphasized JSW's contributions to the Polish and European economies. Member of the European Parliament, Izabela Kloc read out a congratulatory letter from the Speaker of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland - Elżbieta Witek wishing the Company’s employees and management further development and success. Silesian Voivode Jarosław Wieczorek read out a letter from Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, in which he stressed that today's celebration - the 30th anniversary of JSW - is a celebration of the Polish economy and conveyed his appreciation to all those involved in the Company's development.
The ceremony was attended by many guests. The invitation was accepted by representatives of state and local authorities, senators, MPs, MEPs, representatives of the scientific community, presidents of mining and energy companies, business partners, trade union representatives, as well as employees of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa.
The anniversary gala was crowned by artist performances. The guests had the opportunity to listen to Adam Sztaba's orchestra, which presented a unique repertoire. Then the stage was taken by American jazz singer China Moses, as well as Kuba Badach, Kasia Moś and Marcin Wyrostek. The guests attending the concert were welcomed by the Borynia Section orchestra.
