The Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa S.A. Management Board („Company”, „JSW S.A.”) announces that on 25 April 2013 the Company’s Supervisory Board adopted a resolution to appoint Mr. Jerzy Borecki, as of the date of holding this year’s Ordinary Shareholder Meeting of the Company, to be the Vice-President of Production in the JSW S.A. Management Board of the eighth term of office. Mr. Jerzy Borecki does not conduct competitive activity with the Company, nor does he participate in a competing company as a partner in a civil law partnership or a partnership or as a member of a corporate body in a company, nor does he participate in some other competing legal entity as a member of a corporate body. In addition, he has not been entered in the Register of Insolvent Debtors, kept pursuant to the Act on the National Court Register.
Below please find information about Mr. Jerzy Borecki’s education, qualifications and the positions he has held previously, plus a description of his professional career.
Mr. Jerzy Borecki is a graduate of the Faculty of Mining of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow and in 1988 he received a master’s degree as a mining engineer.
In 1987 he completed a Course of Study for Mining Managers for the Purposes of Foreign Trade at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow and he participated in an internship at the Preussag Hard Coal Mine in Ibbenbüren.
Mr. Jerzy Borecki has focused his career from the time of completing his studies on the mining industry. In 1988 he started to work in the „Nowa Ruda” Hard Coal Mine, then he switched to mines belonging to JSW S.A. where he advanced through all the professional levels from mine foreman to director of the mine. From 1990 to 1999 he worked in the „Morcinek” Hard Coal Mine from the position of mine foreman to the position of senior steiger, followed by being manager of mine works. From 2003 to 2006 he held the position of manager of mine works at the „Zofiówka” Hard Coal Mine. From 2007 to 2009 he worked in the „Jas-Mos” Hard Coal Mine where he acted in the capacity of head engineer and subsequently as director of the mine. Since 2010 he has acted in the capacity of director of the „Pniówek” Hard Coal Mine.
His career confirms his experience in managing hard coal mines; his knowledge and experience in conducting mining works facing all the natural hazards present in JSW S.A.’s mines, in particular the predominant, highest level methane hazard; and his knowledge concerning the geological conditions in JSW S.A.’s mines and in the Rybnik and Jastrzębie Districts.
