The Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa S.A. Management Board („Company”, „JSW S.A.”) announces that on 25 April 2013 the Company’s Supervisory Board adopted a resolution to appoint Mr. Grzegorz Czornik, as of the date of holding this year’s Ordinary Shareholder Meeting of the Company, to be the Vice-President of Sales in the JSW S.A. Management Board of the eighth term of office. Mr. Grzegorz Czornik does not conduct competitive activity with the Company, nor does he participate in a competing company as a partner in a civil law partnership or a partnership or as a member of a corporate body in a company, nor does he participate in some other competing legal entity as a member of a corporate body. In addition, he has not been entered in the Register of Insolvent Debtors, kept pursuant to the Act on the National Court Register.
Below please find information about Mr. Grzegorz Czornik’s education, qualifications and the positions he has held previously, plus a description of his professional career.
Mr. Grzegorz Czornik is a graduate of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow and in 1990 he received a master’s degree as a metallurgist engineer. In 1997 he completed a post-graduate course in European Management (MBA) at the University of Economics in Poznań. Subsequently, in 2002 he completed Management structured on an MBA at the Warsaw School of Economics. In 2005 he completed his doctoral studies in economics at the University of Economy in Cracow.
From 5 June 2007 to 27 June 2010 he acted in the capacity of Vice-President of JSW S.A., Director of the Marketing and Coal Quality Department, and since 28 June 2010 he has acted in the capacity of Vice-President of Sales at JSW S.A. a
From 1996 to 2007 he was affiliated with a JSW subsidiary, i.e. Polski Koks S.A. where in the period from 1997 to 2007 he acted in the capacity of Director of Marketing and Sales and where he gained considerable experience in trading coke and coal on international markets. Prior to that, in the period from 1993 to 1996 he worked in Germany as a Project Manager running projects under engagement from the world’s largest concerns.
Mr. Grzegorz Czornik is the author of numerous publications concerning among others the international coking coal, coke and international trade market.
Mr. Grzegorz Czornik has discharged corporate governance functions as a member of supervisory boards in corporations, among others, in the coke sector.
