The Letter of Intent was signed on October 27 by representatives of JSW, JSW Innowacje and the Lublin company Sigma. Constant improvement of the technological processes as well as the design of new machines and equipment is essential for the development of the mining industry.
- Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa is open to new developments, our employees have a lot of ideas, but it is necessary to cooperate with constructors. These ideas are coming straight from the mine, they just need to be sorted out and implemented - said Tomasz Sledź, Vice-President of the Management Board for Technical Matters at Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa.
The cooperation agreement was signed by representatives of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa, JSW Innowacje and Lublin SIGMA S.A. dealing with stematic implementation of new mining solutions. - Within this cooperation we offer many years of experience gained among others thanks to cooperation with LW Bogdanka SA. In our activities we listen to what the engineering and technical staff of the mines are telling us, and then responding to their needs, we propose concrete solutions, verifying many times an idea, a project and a prototype, explains Jan Hajduk, CEO of Sigma S.A.
The company has been in business for over twenty years. Initially, its solutions were mainly directed at the needs of LW Bogdanka S.A., tested and verified by the engineering staff of the mine. Currently, SIGMA is also present in Silesian mining. SIGMA solves the technical problems of mines that occur in underground excavations. In many cases, the hard work of the crew is replaced by mechanization. – JSW cooperation with Sigma will depend on the exchange of solutions in the mining area. JSW is to identify problems and we will try to find solutions that will meet these needs - said Jacek Srokowski, Vice President of JSW Innowacje.
Mining is not a way to carry out complicated research and development activities in the mining plant. The newly established agreement is to serve this purpose as well as exchange of experience between specialized design units. - I look forward to this cooperation. The solutions offered by Sigma are interesting, and what's even more important for me, practically proven in Bogdanka. I believe that they can be further developed so that they also respond to JSW needs. In mines we go down with exploitation ever deeper, we are accompanied by numerous hazards and we have to keep the cost of production under control. That is why we want to support practical and innovative solutions to influence the cost of production, the future of us all depends on this practice, said Artur Dyczko, Vice-President of the Management Board for Strategy and Development of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa. The success of this agreement will depend on the patience and consequence in the operation, as well as the involvement of the engineering and technical staff.
