The rescue workers are not slowing their pace

18 rescue crews are presently working underground. The water on the longwall face has been entirely pumped out, only slurry remains. The rescue workers still have to penetrate the 30-meter-long F-H ventilation tunnel.

In addition, all the places in the H-10 roadway that have more than 40 cm of headroom have been penetrated. At present, the conditions underground now make it possible to check the next fragments of the mining pit. The rescue workers are continuing their efforts to take apart the structural elements of the conveyor belts and the equipment in the most destroyed part of the H-10 roadway. They are moving along a cramped corridor while they must manually remove the elements of the caved-in underground structures that are blocking their path. This is the most difficult rescue operation in the history of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa.
